psychology

Self-concept psychology is part of the most widely used branch of psychology in the last 20 years. It explains that we learn characteristic patterns of thinking and behaviour to which we default.

Importantly these are changeable – counter-intuitively so because most people's strategy for doing so is flawed ie will-power based. Hence they are unaware of the breadth, scale and ease of improvements available to them.

We teach simple mental exercises to change these defaults sustainably.

neuroscience

On July 17, 1990 Presidential Proclamation 6158 by George H Bush heralded "The Decade of the Brain" and triggered an explosion in neuroscience research. In 2000 the Director of the NIMH said "90% of what we know about the brain has been discovered in the last ten years".

Neuro-plasticity is a major part of this legacy. It explains that patterns of thought and behaviour exist in the brain as links between neurons. Reconfiguring them (which we do naturally) changes how we think and behave.

We teach how to direct this process.
